First Australian Grand Prix Played On Wild Bulll® Dart Machines

Date: 02/12/2006

Sunday, February 12th, saw the first of thirteen Australian Grand Prix Darting Events played on the new electronic scoring, steel-tip, Wild Bull® machine. It was also the Inaugural Darts For Fun joint event with Darts Players Australia (DPA), a Division of the PDC.

The Wild Bull Australian Grand Prix featured many great names in the event including the Wizard and his regular playing partner, Tony Fleet, as well as Russell Stewart and Barry Jouannet (‘China’), just to name a few.

The Wizard won the event from ‘Fleety,’ comfortably and took home $1,000. To memorialize this milestone, the players signed the commemorative sign-in sheet, shown here.

Darts For Fun Director Of Marketing, Mr. Trevor Hughes, commented that it was a World First for such an event to be played on Wild Bull® steel-dart machines.

Trevor also reiterated his plan to grow electronic-steel darts and the DPA, and pledged an additional $28,000 for marketing, prize money and event promotion surrounding Wild Bull® machines and the DPA. He concluded by stating that, “This is definitely a big year in the development of electronic steel darts in Australia, and the Wild Bull machine is at the forefront.”

The Wild Bull Australian Grand Prix moves next to Wagga Wagga, in New South Wales in 3 weeks time, when another $2000 in cash and prizes will be up for grabs to Wild Bull Players. The Wild Bull Grand Prix circuit will also visit South Australia and Victoria in 2006. Be sure to stay tuned to the DPA site and Merlindarts.com for more news and information.
